An algorithm for ranking quickest simple paths
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, an algorithm for ranking loopless paths in undirected networks, according to the transmission time, is presented. It is shown that the worst-case computational time complexity of the algorithm presented is O(Kr(m+n log n)), which is also the best-known complexity to solve this problem. The worst-case memory complexity is O(Kn), which improves the existing algorithms. Finally, comparative computational results, with other algorithms for the same problem, are reported. ? 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

A comprehensive survey on the quickest path problem
This work is a survey on a special minsum-maxmin bicriteria problem, known as the quickest path problem, that can model the transmission of data between two nodes of a network. Moreover, the authors review the problems of ranking the K quickest paths, and the K quickest loopless paths, and compare them in terms of the worst-case complexity order. The classification presented led to the proposal...
متن کاملProbabilistic quickest path algorithm
Due to the increasing role of quickest paths for on-demand routing in computer networks, it is important to compute them faster, perhaps, by trading-o3 the quality for computational speed. We consider the computation of a quickest path from a source node to a destination node for a given message size in a network with n nodes and m links each of which is speci6ed by bandwidth and delay. Every k...
متن کاملThe Stochastic Quickest Path Problem via Minimal Paths
The quickest path problem, a version of the shortest path problem, is to find a single quickest path which sends a given amount of data from the source to the sink with minimum transmission time. More specifically, the capacity of each arc in the network is assumed to be deterministic. However, in many real-life networks such as computer systems, telecommunication systems, etc., the capacity of...
متن کاملAlgorithms for the quickest path problem and the enumeration of quickest paths
Let N = (V, R, e, I) be an input network with node set V, arc set A, positive arc weight function c and nonnegative arc weight function 1. Let u be the amount of data to be transmitted. The quickest path problem is to find a routing path in N to transmit the given amount of data in minimum time. In a recent paper, Chen and Chin proposed this problem and developed algorithms for the single pair ...
متن کاملOn Solving Quickest Time Problems in Time-Dependent, Dynamic Networks
In this paper, a pseudopolynomial time algorithm is presented for solving the integral time-dependent quickest flow problem (TDQFP) and its multiple source and sink counterparts: the time-dependent evacuation and quickest transshipment problems. A more widely known, though less general version, is the quickest flow problem (QFP). The QFP has historically been defined on a dynamic network, where...
